My Top Tips on Saving YOU Money.

Hi lovelies! This post is a bit different than what I usually talk about, but I thought it’s SUPER relatable because so many of us struggle with saving $ and spending $. So, I’m here to share some of my top tips on how to save YOU money:

♥ 1 ♥     We all love going out to meet up with our babes and chat about life, love, and everything in between. However, it can get super expensive, especially if it happens multiple times a week!

⇒ My 1st tip? Skip the alcoholic beverage at restaurants – Just order water, which will not only keep you hydrated, it will also keep that skin glowing & helps with digestion.

⇒ My 2nd tip? Invite your besties over to your place for a fun girls’ night! Ask them to bring a small dish or beverage, plan some fun activities, and you’re set for the evening.

♥ 2 ♥     Scared of the word investment? You’re not alone. Actually, investing money is as simple as creating a savings account and setting up automatic deposits to go into that account every month. Look into opening a TFSA (Tax Free Savings Account) because you will earn interest on money that you are saving! This is by far the easiest way to save (and make) money every month. And you definately don’t have to be putting in a huge amount; take a look at your spending & your budget, and from there, you can assess how much money you can put into that account/save every month.

♥ 3 ♥     Skip the coffee purchase in the morning – I know this is probably the most obvious one, but honestly it adds up so quickly! Instead, purchase some coffee at the store (there are so many amazing varieties/brands) and make it yourself. If you’re usually in a rush in the morning, purchase a cute travel mug to make sipping that café that much more enjoyable!

♥ 4 ♥     Meal prep – This one is probably the most tedious of all! We come home from work and the last thing we want to do is cook and prep meals for the next day, I hear you! So, buying lunch seems like the easy way out. But honestly, with baby steps, this will save you money in the long-run that you could put towards necessities or that cute pair of shoes you have been eyeing!

♥ 5 ♥     Shop when there are sales! This one is one of my favourite tips because everyone always asks me how I shop so much (literally every week lol) and still have money to spare. The answer? Do your shopping when there are sales happening. After Christmas, summer sales, back to school sales, etc. The key here is to do your research, but this type of research is fun – Go to the mall, check online sites, sign up for brand emails!

♥ 6 ♥     Write a list when going grocery shopping and stick to it – …  And might I add, don’t go shopping for food on an empty stomach because that my friends is what I like to call a danger zone, and you don’t want to cross over that line, trust me!

♥ 7 ♥     DIY – The term is thrown around everywhere because so many of us have transitioned to this trend. Do It Yourself projects can save you money because instead of going out and buying that lip scrub, face mask, or even expensive designer shoes, with a little time and effort, you can create/alter these items! If you aren’t sure how to get started or the steps involved with certain projects, Google is your best friend, so use it.

♥ 8 ♥     Compare prices! This one may be a bit tedious and tricky, but since I do this every day at work I thought why not include this tip here because it’s such an important factor to consider if you want to save some cash. This relates to literally anything – food, clothing, services, etc.

→ Don’t forget the reward system, it works great! When you have accomplished something or have reached a goal, break the rules and buy yourself that fancy coffee or dress. Obviously don’t go crazy, just play within your limits!
